PSU - Pollock Dining Commons
Pollock Commons serves the southern end of University Park’s campus, which is comprised of 6 residence halls. Originally constructed in the 1950s the 35,000 square foot facility underwent several upgrades but needed a total renovation of its foodservice and dining venues to better accommodate the contemporary student body.
The renovation included major upgrades to the building for code compliance, including full fire suppression, and replacement of exterior curtain wall and glazing. A new entry canopy and modifications to the main entry stair provide controlled access to the second-floor food service facilities.
RSH Architects provided all regional design coordination, representation and contract administration for the $10.5 million dollar project, with MSM Architects of Seattle providing design. The new venues include 6 individual serving motifs and a private dining area. New finishes, casework, seating, and lighting enhance each venue.
RSH Architects was also retained to design roof replacement and dock improvements to the building.
