University of Pittsburgh - O’Hara Student Center
In 2009, The University of Pittsburgh purchased the Concordia Club, located on the corner of University Place and O’Hara Street. This 3 story 33,000 SF building contained a ballroom, dining room, various meeting rooms, a bar, administrative offices, a kitchen, and foodservice support.
The facility was renovated for the use of Student Affairs and the College of Arts and Science. The existing dining room on the first floor and ballroom on the second floor remained as meeting and banquet spaces. The smaller dining and meeting room spaces have been converted to math and writing tutoring centers and student activity offices. The basement provides ample storage, mechanical, and service space for the food serving areas on the first and second floors.
Exterior improvements included masonry restoration, an addition to provide multi-level accessibility with a new elevator, renovations to the parking areas and other site improvements.
