CCAC - West Hills Science Lab

RSH Architects designed the West Hills Center in 2007 and space was reserved for the future design of a science lab. In 2011 the college received a grant for three million dollars from the Richard King Mellon Foundation, the largest single gift the community college had received in 45 years of operation. Six hundred and eighty thousand dollars funded the design and construction of the lab. The lab is unique because it is designed to serve multiple science disciplines, including anatomy, physiology, biology and chemistry. Close collaboration between the teaching faculty and architect during the programming phase was necessary to satisfy the variety of teaching requirements.
