Northside Coalition Senior Apartments

City of Pittsburgh, PA

Services: Architectural, Interior Design.

Project Narrative: This 22,000 square foot apartment building houses 25 units for senior citzens over the age of 62. Design and development was made possible through funding from Section 202 of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Supportive Housing for the Elderly Program and monies from the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA).

Located in the California- Kirkbride District of the City of Pittsburgh, the building facade is reminiscent of the surrounding neighborhoods. The floor plan encourages senior residents to use the entire facility, while conveniences such as shallow rise stairs and an elevator allow for easy access throughout the three-story building.
